My target is drifting during a timeline move. How to keep it centered?

Troubleshooting target tracking

1. Double-check the position and measurements of your sensor position relative to the robot flange. Use the visual reference in the Target Manager to make sure all the measurements are correct.

2. If you are capturing the target from focus, make sure your lens calibration is 100% accurate. Ideally, we recommend using an external measurement system to calibrate your lenses and not rely on the lens marks.

3. Since the focus distance is measured from the nodal point and not the sensor point, consider measuring the nodal offset of your lens and include it in your FIZ settings.

4. Consider using a dynamic target where you would re-key the new target position at every keyframe. This would counter the effect of a drifting target if the measurements are not 100% accurate.
