Direct Controls

The Direct Controls widget allows you to control the robot in the camera frame directly as if you are sitting in the camera and looking through the lens. The general feature layout and functions are shown and described below.

Controls Functions

Below, you'll find detailed descriptions for each control function in the Direct Controls Widget.

Parameter

Function

Left Joystick Stick

Controls the X-Y position of the camera in its own frame (slide left/right and slide up/down).

Right Joystick Stick

Controls the pan/tilt axes of the camera (pan left/right and tilt up/down).

Forward

Advances the camera along the direction of its lens.

Backward

Retreats the camera along the direction of its lens.

Roll-Left

Rotates the camera counterclockwise around its axis.

Roll-Right

Rotates the camera clockwise around its axis.

Rail Mode (Enabled)

Synchronizes movement of the track carriage with the robot.

Rail Mode (Disabled)

Allows independent movement of the robot from the track carriage.

Track Target

Automatically follows the selected target while jogging the robot.

Focus Mode (Free Focus)

Enables manual adjustment of focus while jogging the robot.

Focus Mode (Locked Focus)

Keeps the focus fixed on the selected object while jogging the robot.

Target Distance

Provides the distance to the selected target.

Target Focal Distance

Indicates the focal distance to the selected target.

Rotation Priority

  • Pitch Priority: Use when pitching the camera over +/- 90 degrees.

  • Roll Priority: Use when rolling the camera over +/- 90 degrees.
