Connecting a Lens Motor

Lensmaster supports several FIZ motors such as the Tilta Nucleus-M, ARRI cforce motor, RedRock Eclipse for Robots and Teradek MK3.1 to drive the Focus, Iris and Zoom axes on your lens.

A FIZ Unit is available by Camerabotics for the Tilta Nucleus-M or the ARRI cforce motors with optional USB or Ethernet-based interfaces. See Camerabotics.com/FIZ unit for more info or order instructions.

How to connect your lens motor to Lensmaster

  1. Navigate to Edit | Preferences | FIZ.

  2. Select the motor type and communication mode from the Lens Motor Configuration pane.

  3. Connect the FIZ unit to your PC and ensure the driver is properly recognized in your PC's device manager as a USB to Serial adapter.

  4. Get the COM port number (i.e. COM1, COM2, etc) of the FIZ unit from device manager and assign it from the drop down menu of the Lens Motor Configuration pane in Lensmaster

  5. Hit Apply to save the settings.

  6. To connect and start moving your lens motor from lensmaster, right click on the FIZ icon in the Communication Manager and hit Connect.
