RC Motor Overview

This article describes how to configure and add an RC Servo motor to your Lensmaster Animation Timeline.

RC servo motors are compact and low-cost rotary actuators designed for precision control in radio-controlled (RC) applications, robotics, and automation. These motors are characterized by their three-wire interface: power, ground, and control signal and can be driven directly by the Lensmaster Action Server.

Three wire connections to sockets M1 or M2 are needed to drive the RC servo motor from Lensmaster via the Lensmaster Action Server.

  • Power (Red wire): Supplies the voltage necessary to operate the servo motor.

  • Ground (Brown or Black wire): Provides the common ground connection between the servo motor and the power source or control circuit.

  • Control Signal (Orange, Yellow, or White wire): Carries the pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal that dictates the position of the servo motor's output shaft.
